    Synopsis
    The world is witnessing an increase in the adoption of blockchain technology. This Session will give an overview of the blockchain and fintech ecosystem in Nigeria. It will explore blockchain use cases in the area of finance, art & creative industry, real estate, data processing, political governance & elections, commerce & trades, health, agriculture, education etc. It will also discuss blockchain-enabled finance vs traditional financial systems. Technical challenges in blockchain such as scalability/adoption, security, speed, interoperability, consensus/governance, disguised-centralization as well as risks such as fraud, volatility, security, privacy and knowledge gaps in blockchain will also be considered. A multi-jurisdictional perspective on blockchain adoption in selected countries will be given while looking inward on Nigeria’s (and Africa’s) place in blockchain, fintech and tech innovation.
