Women in the Profession (WIP) an empowerment initiative of the New York Bar in the United States of America is set to launch its Nigerian Chapter at a virtual ceremony on Friday, October 7, 2022.
The ceremony, which will commence at 11.00 am on the Zoom platform – with Dolapo Kukoyi (Managing Partner at the law firm of Details Solicitors) as Moderator – will feature a distinguished cast of participants, notably the Keynote Speaker, in the person of Felicia Djibo (a Partner at the firm of Deloitte), and a trio of Panelists, namely, Kofo Dosekun (Chairman at the law firm of Aluko & Oyabode); Michelle Thompson (CEO at Resistant Vision Coaching & Consulting); and Derin Adefulu (Executive Head, Governance at Old Mutual Nigeria).
WIP is aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in the business and professional worlds. Its key objectives are to promote best practices for female professionals, as well as enhance networking opportunities across continents. The launch ceremony is also aimed at creating and leveraging on infrastructure that facilitates the sharing of best practices and professional development training. Another key objective, especially as regards Friday’s event, is to serve as a resource centre for the strategic positioning of the Nigerian female lawyer.
