Suspected terrorists have killed a warrant officer in the Nigerian Army identified as Muhammad Dalhatu.
Dalhatu was killed by the gunmen along Birnin-Gwari/Kontangora Road on Thursday in Kaduna State.
He was said to have testified in court on Wednesday as a witness in a murder case.
A prosecutor with the Nigerian Army, Monday Daniel Bissan confirmed the incident.
He said, “Oh, this life I’m in tears this night. This is my depot mate, Warrant Officer Mohammed Dalhatu who came to testify as a witness for a murder case and I’m the defence counsel.
“After cross-examining him yesterday in court today, 3/11/22 he was killed by bandits along Birni Gwari to Kontagora. Haba why why Reguls, I will miss you like jokes (sic) after our last calls today morning Hmmm.”
In recent months, Kaduna has witnessed a spate of violent attacks which has led to the killing and abduction of residents.
