The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has described as cheap blackmail allegations that her leadership, led by Joe Ajaero, is planning to scuttle the inauguration of President elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A statement signed by the Head of Information and Public affairs , Comrade Benson Upah, the Congress said NLC is a pan- Nigerian organisation that is not ruled by premodial sentiment.
The statement further said the Congress only invited Peter Obi , the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP)to the 2023 May Day commomerarion, and that wouldn’t translate to planning to disrupt the inauguration come May 29.

The NLC said: “We want to state that these allegations are cheap blackmail intended to divert the attention of the leadership of the Congress from its obligation or mission to the people.
“We wish to reiterate that the Nigeria Labour Congress is a pan-Nigerian organisation not governed by primordial sentiments such as ethnicity or religion.
