BVAS: : INEC ENOUGH OF YOUR RASCALITY AND IMPUNITY.

0

BY CHIEF MALCOLM EMOKINIOVO OMIRHOBO.

I have watch for sometime now the rascality and impunity of Inec and want to state here that it is unbecoming . The fact that Inec is one of the federal government of Nigeria independent agencies does not make it above the law and subject to judicial review .

I don’t see any reason why a simple task of allowing political parties armed with court order get the certified true copies of electronic public documents be an issue that is now covered with secrecy.

I must point out here to the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye that the issue at stake here is not one of political parties trying to regulate the Commission but one of the Commission refusing to be transparent in her dealings with the public and its disobedience of court order.

Now that the gubernatorial and state House of Assemblies election has been postponed Inec should have enough time to first avail the political.parties the content of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System before reconfiguring it . Anything short of this is unacceptable and will be taken to mean that Inec has tempered with the contents of the Bvas to cover up its involvement in electoral.mal practises as alleged by the political.parties in the 25th of February Presidential election .

If Inec hands are clean what is the big deal for it to carry out the so call reconfiguration in the presence of independent witnesses and representatives of political parties after all the election was not conducted in secret .

Political parties have the right to look at Inec’s , IReV or into the brain of the BVAS.. If you take our tax payers money of over 300 billion to go digital from manual way of conducting elections then the political parties or any interested party has the right to conduct digital search and as well apply for certified true copies which why the court has granted the political parties prayers . I need to make it clear that Inec’s IRev and BVAS are Nigeria’s public property and not Inec’s .

Irrespective of whether every political party that deploys polling agents has a copy of the polling units level results based on the court order they have the right look at the database containing biometric information of all registered voters or at least have its certified true copies .

Inec refusing to allow the political parties access to information they requested for to conduct their case amounts to obstruction and perversion of justice and must not be allowed by Nigerians .

It is sad that less than one percent of the over 2i00 million Nigerians are shifting in the mouths of others with impunity.
