The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, has died in a plane crash with some of his aides.
Military source said Gen. Attahiru was on a trip to Kaduna, died alongside his aides in the plane crash.
Efforts were on to locate the wreckage of the plane and evacuate the remains of the victims.
The Nigerian Air Force had reported the crash of one of its aircraft early Friday, but did not give indication of casualties
His mission to Kaduna was said to be “official.
