The preparations for the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Nigeria are gradually heating up in some states of the country.
In Abia State, the incumbent governor, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, will be looking to end his time as governor of the state, after his second tenure elapses.
As with other state governors who are preparing to leave the governorship position, a search for Governor Okezie’s replacement from the same ruling party becomes paramount.
