SYNOPSIS
The recent unveiling of the eNaira by the Central Bank of Nigeria has exposed many legal issues and the inherent opportunities in the burgeoning blockchain and financial technology ecosystem. This Session will focus on blockchain and financial technology and how regulators can balance regulation with innovation. It will discuss the Central Bank Digital Currency and also analyse the regulatory challenges of some Blockchain Use Cases such as DeFi and DAOs vis-à-vis the existing company laws and regulations. It will also do a comparative analysis of blockchain regulation in Nigeria and other jurisdictions.
