Police operatives in Yobe State have foiled an attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters on the Gujba Police Division in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama

According to Makama, the attack happened late Thursday night when suspected Boko Haram elements attempted to overrun the police formation.

Officers on duty, however, quickly responded and successfully repelled the assailants.

Makama reported that no police officer was injured during the attack, while no firearms were taken and no patrol vehicles were damaged.

“The attackers were repelled promptly. There was no casualty among our personnel, no arm was lost and no patrol vehicle was damaged,” a security source was quoted as saying.

Makama revealed that the Divisional Police Officer of the Gujba Division was carrying out a detailed assessment of the incident and would forward a full report to the Yobe State Police Command.

As of the time of filing this report, the Yobe State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
