Woman set ablaze over alleged child stealing in Delta community

An angry mob on Wednesday set a woman ablaze over her alleged attempt to steal a child in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The child, a seven-year-old boy, was also rescued from the hands of the woman.

It was learnt that the deceased suspect was apprehended after the little boy raised an alarm saying he doesn’t know her (woman) from anywhere.

When the woman was interrogated by the mob, she couldn’t give reasonable answers on how she got the child.

The mob beat her to stupor before she was set ablaze.

Recently, the people of Agbarho community staged a protest over the disappearances and stealing of children in the area.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe is yet to respond to an enquiry by our correspondent on the incident.
