Greetings to every member of the Nigerian Bar Association, ably led by MR. YAKUBU CHONOKO MAIKYAU, SAN and our branch Chairman Barr. C.N.N. Nwagbara, Learned silks, Seniors and colleagues. Today being Thursday, the 13th day of June, 2024 is a special day in the life of every young lawyer in Enugu and beyond because is made to be an inspiring day of our symposium event with the theme; Contemporary Diversity in Legal Practice; Navigating Pathways with the anticipation of nurturing, growing and increasing our hope and exposure in the diversity of legal practice in order to build a strong training and practice of law.
Last two years, being our 2022 Symposium, which was titled: where there is no vision, the young lawyers perish, the keynote speaker for that 2022 symposium was a learned silk Chief Akaraiwe Ikeazor, SAN a legal giant who did justice to the theme of the event that gave birth to today theme: Contemporary Diversity in Legal Practice; Navigating Pathways, ready to be delivered to us today by a team of scholars; Ikechukwu Onuoma, SAN the keynote speaker, Dr. Jude Ezegwui Guest Speaker in the second segment of the event, Hon. Justice O.P. Anike one of the Discussant/Panelist and all the Chairmanship aspirants of the Enugu Bar election and all the aspirant of the NBA President election as part of the Discussant/Panelist of the first session and second session respectively.
It is our profound appreciation to welcome we all to this august occasion meant to build us in legal practice and beyond to explore the diversity nature of legal practice which span into every area of the society for its betterment.
“Legal practice is a calling which we must be equipped with knowledge of law to deliver the services to the larger society”.
This event has a lot of packages that span from 10:00am to 4:00pm to deliver to us in order to build our vision and mission as a lawyer. In summary, I borrow the word of Hon. Justice O.P. Anike who said that; “legal profession is one profession with many calling” come and discover or improve on your calling. Thanks.
