US Senate finally confirms Robert Kennedy Jr as Trump’s Health Secretary

The United States Senate has confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services Secretary in President Donald Trump’s cabinet.
The Republican-controlled Senate voted 52-48 along party lines to confirm Kennedy on Thursday.

Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was the only Republican to vote against Kennedy’s nomination.

Kennedy survived back-to-back, contentious Senate confirmation hearings late last month. However, he only needed a simple majority to be confirmed.

He is a well-known vaccine sceptic and environmental crusader and ran for the White House in 2024 before ending his bid to endorse Trump.

Kennedy had recently repeated claims linking vaccines to autism, which have been debunked by scientific research.
