The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has said a Nigerian man, Owolabi Adeyinka, has been sentenced to two years and two months imprisonment for “conspiracy to commit wire fraud.”

In a post made on its social media platforms on Thursday, the ICE revealed that Adeyinka was arrested in New Orleans.

“Meet Nigerian national Owolabi Adeyinka,” the ICE said.

“He was sentenced to 26 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud.”

Using the Nigerian man’s case as a warning, the agency said it would deport any criminal caught to their home countries after serving jail terms.

It said, “Before you start cracking jokes about email scams and princes, let this ICE New Orleans arrest serve as a reminder.”

“When a criminal alien is released from prison, our enforcement officers provide free rides home,” it added
