An illegal migrant, Victor Martinez-Hernandez has been convicted of raping and murdering a mother of five children, Rachel Morin in the United States after the jury deliberated for just one hour on Monday.
On August 2023, Martinez-Hernandez, 24, was found guilty of first degree, rape and murder for the dreadful attack on Morin, 37, in Baltimore.
He now must await sentencing as he faces life in prison for the evil crime.
Just last Friday, the Prosecutors concluded their case in the jury trial and the defense spent 10 minutes responding on Monday.
This gave the way for an amazing short deliberation period for the jurors as they later returned their verdict within an hour, Fox Baltimore reported.
However, Alison Healey, the Harford County State Attorney, has already indicated she will seek the highest penalty for Martinez-Hernandez.
“The quickness of the verdict speaks to the strength of the evidence in the case,” Healey said. “This was an airtight case.”
Healey revealed that Morin “fought for her life” in her final moments as she was badly beaten, “raped and ultimately murdered at the hands of the defendant.”
