Vigilante officers in Kogi State have arrested two men allegedly supplying food items to bandits operating in the Itedo-Ijowa area of Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Abayo David and David Bori, both residents of Itedo-Ijowa, were apprehended around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday during a routine patrol of the area.
The spokesperson to the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Adeyemi Babarinde Sunday, confirmed the arrest in a post on his Facebook page.
“This arrest marks significant progress in our efforts to track down individuals who support or provide intelligence to bandits. We remain committed to ensuring lasting peace in our communities and will take decisive action against anyone found collaborating with criminals,” Babarinde said.
He further reveled an investigation has been launched by security operatives to determine whether the suspects have links to other accomplices or any major terrorist groups.
