Two arraigned for alleged house breaking, theft in Ibadan

Two suspects identified as Najimdeen Habib and Peter Olanase, were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for alleged house breaking and theft.

The duo face a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, house breaking, and theft, but pleaded not guilty.

According to the Prosecutor, Insp Olufemi Omilana, “The defendants broke into the houses of Ayomide Oloruntoyin and Afeez Adewole in the Ologuneru area of Ibadan on February 2 and 23, stealing valuables including a television, iron pipe, electricity cooker, and generating set.”

He said the offences contravened Sections 516, 412 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties each and adjourned the case until April 3 for hearing.
