Gloria Ireka Marks New Year with Widows, Distributes Cash and other Gifts
Lawyer and Publisher of NEWSWIRE Law Events Magazine, Gloria Ireka ushered in Year 2026 with a modest but impactful gesture – and she chose to do it close to her roots.
On January 9, she returned to her community, Ubahaezedeke, part of Awo-Idemili town in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State to felicitate with the widows of that community – during which time she distributed pieces of Ankara cloth and cash to each of them.
This gesture is in line with Ireka’s long-standing belief that though we cannot do everything (whether in our individual capacities, or as part of a corporate entity), each of us can do SOMETHING to ease the condition of our neighbors and the vulnerable in our society, and put a smile on their faces.
In turn, the recipients expressed their heartfelt gratitude to a daughter of the soil. It was significant, some of them said, that this gesture was coming so early in the year, and that it was a pointer to a good year ahead.
They then prayed for the health, success and happiness of their benefactor, Gloria.
