The wife of a car dealer, Ayodeji Soetan, named Olanike, has been admitted to the hospital after their landlady, Juliet Akano, allegedly broke into their apartment at Tijani Bello in the Ojodu area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred around 11 am on Wednesday, January 24, according to PUNCH Metro. Soetan reported that Akano came to the two-storey building with some suspected thugs, and one of them used a sledgehammer to break into the apartment, causing shock to his wife who was later hospitalised due to high blood pressure.
Soetan also claimed that one of the men assaulted his neighbor who tried to prevent the demolition. He stated that the landlady had not given any prior notice before the demolition took place. Additionally, he disputed Akano’s claim that the individuals who vandalized their property were state government officials, asserting that his own investigation revealed otherwise.
Efforts to reach Akano for comment were initially successful, but she ended the call when the correspondent identified himself. A text message sent to her remained unanswered at the time of filing this report.
