Simon Ekpa, a popular Biafra agitator and separatist, said that a sit-at-home in the southeast is needed to demand the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Ekpa, the Finland-based lawyer and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, disclosed this on Friday through his official Twitter handle.
Recall that Ekpa had announced a weeklong sit-at-home from July 3 to 10, 2023.
Ekpa stressed that the sit-at-home was necessary for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu and in preparation for Biafra’s referendum.
Ekpa urged Igbos to disregard reports from unknown IPOB agents against the Biafra referendum.
“Our attention has been drawn to news circulating on social media that IPOB denies declaring to sit at home.
“We want to clarify that the sit-at-home from July 3rd to July 10th has come to stay. Biafra land will be on lockdown.
We challenge those parading themselves as IPOB to show their identity, pictures, and profile and let Biafrans know who they are,” he wrote.
