Professional Profile of Obianuju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor
Obianuju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor (Mrs) graduated from the faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Enugu campus. She attended the Nigerian law School, Bwari, Abuja and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in year 2000. She has in view postgraduate studies in law (LL.M) University of Lagos.
Uju (as she is fondly called) cut her teeth in the legal practice with the Lagos-based Law firms of Lanre Ogunlesi & Co and J.P.C. Anetoh & Co. She then joined the law firm of M.O. Chukwuma-Okafor & Associates (Ivory Chambers) in 2006, rising through the ranks to the position of Managing Partner.
Obianuju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor (Mrs) is an active, dedicated and founding member of NBA Badagry Branch. She worked assiduously with other branch members to ensure that the branch was inaugurated in 2012. Consistent with her long-standing commitment to the Bar generally and the branch in particular, Obianuju has served the branch in various capacities, including; Secretary Law week planning committee (2011); Pioneer Branch Treasurer (2012- 2014); Branch Secretary (2014 -2016); National Executive Committee (NEC) representative (2014-2016), and Co-opted National Executive committee (NEC) representative (2016 till date).
A quintessential Bar-man reputed for her integrity and unfailing commitment to the Bar, Obianuju has also served the Bar at the national level. She was a member of the NBA technical committee on conference planning (2015); Member, NBA INEC Observer Team in the Nigerian general election (2015) and member, NBA technical committee on conference planning 2016.
Obianuju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor is a member of several professional associations, namely the National Association of Catholic lawyers (NACL) as well as a Member of NACL’s Pro-bono sub-committee. She is also a Member of the African women Lawyers Association (AWLA); the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF), Otu Oka Iwu (Law Society) among other professional associations.

She also doubles as Secretary General of Udah Dinmma Welfare Association, Orsu-ihiteukwa, Orsu LGA, Imo State, Lagos branch, (2013 – till date).
