Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to probe the immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas.

Adeyanju said ICPC should probe Ibas over the N283.3 billion he collected during his six months as Sole Administrator of Rivers State.

In the petition he signed and addressed to the Chairman of ICPC, Adeyanju said Ibas has nothing to show for the six months he presided over the six despite the huge allocation.

He said: “Earlier today, we petitioned ICPC @icpcnigeria to investigate former Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retd.), over the N283.3 billion he received in six months with virtually nothing to show for it.

“Aside from the cosmetic renovation of the State House of Assembly complex, no project was executed, no accounts were published, and no transparency was offered.

“This is a clear case that demands urgent investigation and accountability as the people of Rivers State deserve to know how their money was spent.”

Ibas assumed the reign of leadership following the six-month suspension of Governor Sim Fubara.
