The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Police Force has launched a public appeal to help identify a teenage boy believed to be the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Abuja.
The boy, estimated to be between 12 and 15 years old, was reportedly struck by a vehicle near the Apo Roundabout transformer. He was later found unconscious by two good Samaritans, who rushed him to a hospital in the Apo Resettlement area.
In a statement issued on Friday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the Command urgently requires information that could help trace the victim’s family or guardian.
According to the statement, “On 10th December 2025, the attention of the FCT Police Command was drawn to a suspected hit-and-run incident involving a young male, estimated to be between 12 and 15 years old, whose identity remains unknown.”
The statement further disclosed that the boy was discovered lying unconscious around 8:00 p.m. by two Good Samaritans, Mr. Naziru Ibrahim and Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed, who immediately transported him to Sahad Hospital in Apo Resettlement.
“He is currently receiving medical attention and remains unconscious,” the Command stated.
Police authorities said investigations are ongoing and appealed for public assistance to help identify the teenager and locate his relatives.
“While investigations continue, the FCT Police Command calls on well-meaning members of the public to provide any useful information that may assist in identifying the victim and reuniting him with his family. For information or enquiries, members of the public are encouraged to contact the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer on 07038979348 or report to the nearest police station,” the statement added.
