The Niger State Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of armed robbery after they snatched a Toyota Camry car from a resident.
The suspects, identified as Umar Mukhtar, 25, Shu’aibu Ahmed, 30, and Mohammed Ibrahim Abba, 25, allegedly carried out the robbery in Bosso Estate, Minna.
According to the police, the suspects, led by a still-at-large individual named Mustapha, demanded money from their victim, but unable to obtain any, took the victim’s wife’s Toyota Camry car (Reg. No KNT 785 SN) at gunpoint.
However, the police swiftly tracked them down and recovered the stolen vehicle.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, revealing that they used a toy gun and screwdrivers as weapons.
The police spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident and assured that efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect, Mustapha were ongoing.
The suspects are currently under investigation.
