The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old suspect, Ajibola Joseph, popularly known as “Dejavoo,” over alleged involvement in a series of burglaries, armed robberies, and gunrunning in the Ayetoro area of the state.

The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, saying it followed increased complaints of burglary in the community.

“The suspect was arrested in the early hours of Thursday at about 0100 hrs, within the Idagba community, following a well-coordinated surveillance operation,” Odutola said.

She described Joseph as “a burglar, armed robber, and gunman” believed to be behind several high-profile criminal activities in the area.

Dejavoo, according to the command, is accused of armed robbery, burglary, and theft, adding that one of the most recent cases occurred on Tuesday.

“On 9th September 2025, Joseph allegedly broke into the residence of one Waheed Akande at Igbole Aibo, where CCTV footage captured him vandalising cables, destroying pumping machines, and carting away the sum of N1,500,000,” Odutola explained.

She added that the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, “for further discreet investigation after preliminary interrogation at the divisional level.”

The command made a similar arrest in a case in April when a 31-year-old man, Lukpata Micheal, was nabbed for allegedly breaking into a house near the Igode area, destroying property, and stealing items valued at N2.6m
