The Kano State Police have arraigned 13 commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators before magistrate court No. 36 sitting in Gyadi-Gyadi over alleged violation of the state’s stipulated operating hours.
During Friday’s court session, the defendants were formally charged, to which they pleaded not guilty.
Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Nura Abdullahi Fagge, urged the court to order the police to produce the motorcycles that were seized from the defendants, as part of the evidence.
The prosecutor requested time to respond to the application made by the defence counsel.
Presiding Magistrate, Rakiya Tanko, adjourned the matter to January 6, 2026, for further hearing and granted the defendants bail.
