PAST PRESIDENT, CHIEF T.J.O. OKPOKO, SAN, OFR CONGRATULATES OLU AKPATA, JOHN AIKPOKPO-MARTINS AND KUNLE EDUN ON THEIR VICTORIES.
A past President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Thompson Onomigbo Okpoko, SAN, OON has commended the Paul Usoro administration for enabling a free, fair and transparent election. He congratulated Mr. Olumide Akpata, John Aikpokpo-Martins and Olukunle Edun who were adopted by the branches of the Midwest Bar Forum and won their elections as the President, 1st Vice President and National Welfare Secretary of the NBA respectively.
Chief T. J. O. Okpoko, SAN, OFR made the commendation while receiving John Aikpokpo-Martins and Olukunle Edun in his palatial home in Warri on the 6th of August, 2020. While taking the newly elected National Officers into an excursion of the journey of the NBA in the past 60 years particularly on the arduous task of rebuilding the Bar under his watch after the 1992 crisis, he advised the newly elected NBA President to be wary of sycophants and saboteurs if he wants to succeed. He expressed his belief that with the inclusion of John Aikpokpo-Martins and Olukunle Edun, who are proud ambassadors of the best traditions of the Bar as espoused by the Warri Branch in the in-coming administration, the NBA is set for greater achievements and a return to the observance of the best traditions of the Bar.
