The Nigerian Bar Association through its Section on Public Interest and Development Law (“SPIDEL”) chaired by Dr. Monday Ubani on the 28th of February, 2022 held a Town Hall meeting with the theme “Justiciability of Chapter Two of 1999 Constitution: Pragmatic Measures for Government’s Accountability”.
The Town Hall meeting which held in Lagos State was attended by notable legal personalities who delivered talks on the theme and responded to issues raised therein.
Mr Ede Asenoguan views the Town Hall meeting as a step in the right direction, geared towards the betterment of justice delivery as it relates to the good of the common man. He hailed the NBA and SPIDEL in the following words:
“It is with delight that I hail the leadership of the NBA and SPIDEL for the success of the SPIDEL Town Hall meeting held today in Lagos. It was a worthwhile experience even for those who attended online. The discussants did justice to the theme and and I hope that in the very near future we will begin to experience a more responsive approach from government in delivering on their electioneering promises, which promises are mostly housed in Chapter Two of the constitution, being the primary purpose of government in the first place.
It is my prayer that SPIDEL and the NBA will remain steadfast in putting government on its toes to ensure good governance.
Thanks and God bless”
Signed:
Ede Asenoguan, Esq.
