Today, 15th April, 2022 marks the 2022 commemoration of the death of Christ on the cross for the sins of mankind. The day is liturgically refered to as Good Friday, being the day the ultimate sacrifice was made by Christ, the son of God.
Mr Ede Asenoguan, a devout Christian has joined billions of Christians all over the world to celebrate this day. In his message to mark one of the most important events in christendom, he exhorted Christians to emulate the path of Christ in all that they do.
His words:
“As we commemorate the death of our Lord Jesus Christ today, it is important that we critically examine what it means to us as Christians. Christ died for our sins, laid down his life, making the ultimate sacrifice. In the same vein we are called upon to make sacrifices for our brothers and sisters.
No one expects us to lay down our lives in our daily endeavours, all we need to do is to be charitable to everyone we come across, for this is the sacrifice that God requires of us; if we all do this collectively, we would ultimately achieve the purpose of Christianity. Recall that the greatest commandment of them all is love of God and neighbour.
It is my prayer that Christ’s death will bring us lasting peace in all that we do. Amen.
