19th-22nd of March, 2022 marks the Law Week of the NBA, Kano branch. The Law Week which holds at Amani Events, Kano is themed “Legal Practice at Crossroads: Challenges of Lawyering in the face of Nigeria’s Political and Economic Climate”.
Mr Ede Asenoguan has sent a message of Felicitation to the Kano branch, particularly commending them for that choice of theme.
His message of Felicitation reads as follows:
“The Chairman, Executive and branch members of the revered Kano branch,
It is with utmost regards and delight that I convey my message of felicitation to your distinguished bar on the occasion of your Law Week for the year 2022. You have brilliantly and painstakingly coined a theme that hits the very soul of the legal profession in Nigeria to wit: Legal Practice at Crossroads: Challenges of Lawyering in the face of Nigeria’s Political and Economic Climate.
Without mincing words, the legal practice in Nigeria is at crossroads to the extent that the once highly regarded legal practitioner is now being treated with contempt and disdain owing to the economic cum social-political deficiencies beleaguering the Nigerian state. I dare to say that the legal profession is one of the worst hit in this regard.
I am convinced that the topics and sessions hinged on this apposite theme will prescribe workable solutions on how to restore the legal profession back to its pride of place. So far this has been the case and I look forward to more educating and enlightening outputs as the week climaxes.
