Passenger kills Ondo okada rider, snatches motorcycle

The Ondo State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the killing of one commercial motorcyclist, Nazifi Ibrahim, by a suspected armed robber

According to PUNCH Metro it was gathered that Ibrahim was shot dead by a passenger he carried at Ore community in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday. After the deed, the assailant was said to have snatched the motorcycle.

According to a source in the community, who pleaded anonymity because he was not permitted to speak with the media, the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 10:40 p.m. on the fateful day, stressing that the incident had caused tension in the community as Ibrahim was well known among his colleagues in the area.

The source said the deceased took the deadly passenger to Alafia Street within Ore, where he was attacked and gruesomely murdered by him (the passenger).

The source said, “We don’t know what transpired between the deceased and the unknown assailants before he was shot dead.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident saying the command had commenced investigation into it.

He said, “An incident occurred in Ore, and upon the receipt of the information, the DPO and his team moved to where the lifeless body of the victim was seen and his bike was carted away.

“The command has launched an immediate manhunt for those responsible where the investigation continues.

“In addition, the victim has since been buried according to the Islamic rites.”
