An unidentified female passenger has been reported dead after a car conveying her was involved in a head-on collision with a stationary 20-foot containerised truck at Isolo Under bridge inward Oshodi, Lagos State on Friday.
The Kia car, with registration number KWL-475CZ, travelling at a high speed, collided with the truck on the highway, according to a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Channels TV reports.
While the car driver sustained injuries, the female passenmger died in the car due to the impact of the collission.
LASTMA officials and men of the Nigeria Police were on the ground to rescue the trapped person inside the car, and the dead victim has been bagged, and handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit for transportation to the morgue.
The report noted that the damaged car had been relocated to Olosan Police Station.
“Meanwhile, we are awaiting the agency’s heavy-duty equipment i.e. a crane and low bed to recover the abandoned containerised truck off the road,” the statement read.
The identities of the victims were yet to be known at the time of filing this report.
