The Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, yesterday denied being Interrogated by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The report, had alleged that Talabi was grilled in pursuant of investigation over his interest in a Sexurity and Printing Company, also known as Superflux Nigeria Limited and alleged to have been used for money laundering.
In a statement issued by his press officer, Mr. Adegoke Oyebade, Mr. Talabi labeled the report as misleading and spurious, urging all right-thinking individuals and organizations not to believe such unfounded claims.Superflux Nigeria Limited, a security printing company where Mr. Talabi once served as a director, had previously issued a statement denouncing the allegations. The company refuted the claims of being involved in money laundering or printing ballot papers for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
They dismissed these accusations as the work of mischief-makers intent on tarnishing the company’s reputation, as well as that of its former Director, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who now serves as the Secretary to the Ogun State Government.
Mr. Talabi took the matter seriously and filed a petition with the DSS to address the baseless and politically motivated allegations. He subsequently visited the DSS to provide further clarification and defend his position.
“It is disconcerting to note that the report projected Mr. Talabi as an accused person, despite the fact that he was the one who filed the petition with the security agency to investigate the groundless accusations made against him by faceless individuals. During his visit to the DSS office, Mr. Talabi addressed his petition, and the meeting lasted no more than 40 minutes.”
In light of these events, Mr. Talabi stands firm in his denial of any involvement in money laundering activities and remains committed to defending his reputation against baseless attacks.
