Nine victims abducted by armed bandits in Adanla community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, are still being held in captivity after payment of N40m ransom by the community.

The victims were abducted on December 26,2025 at the palace of community’s monarch, Oba Olarinoye.

The armed bandits invaded the palace in search of the monarch and his Queen but the duo were not available.

The monarch had traveled to Igbaja town for an event when the bandits stormed the palace on the fateful day.

They, however, abducted the nine victims in place of the monarch and his Queen and marched them into the bush.

A relation of some of the abducted victims who confided in DAILY POST, confirmed that about N40m contributed by members of the community and good spirited citizens had been delivered to the bandits but the victims are yet to be set free.

He said the community is now in dilemma as the fate of the victims.

According to the anonymous relation, “the bandits called to inform us that they heard the news report of the victims’ capture and are waiting for security agencies to come to their rescue.”

He blamed some informants in the community for helping the bandits and providing information to them.

He, however, appealed to the state government and security agencies to come to the rescue of the victims and secure their release.
