    The Annual Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) is set to go live on “X,” formerly known as Twitter.

    According to a statement by Assoc. Prof. Uju Agomoh and Mr. Enome Amatey, the Chair and Secretary respectively of the 2025 NBA-SPIDEL Annual Conference Planning Committee (CPC), the conference handles are “SPIDELUYO” and “NBASPIDELUYO.”

    The statement noted that the handles are “in furtherance of NBA-SPIDEL’s commitment to equal access to information critical to rule of law and development.”

    Meanwhile, foremost human rights and good governance activist, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has arrived Uyo to deliver the eagerly anticipated Keynote Address. The leadership has also confirmed the arrival of Professor Stephen Shute, President of the International Penal and Penitentiary Foundation (IPPF). Prof. Shute will interrogate Odinkalu’s address and give a response.

    On the other hand, the planned visit of the NBA-SPIDEL Team to the Uyo Correctional Centra will now hold today at 3 pm. The team will be led by the Chairman of the NBA-SPIDEL Interim Management Committee, Professor Paul Ananaba SAN. He will be accompanied by Professor Uju Agomoh, a pioneer prison reform advocate and Chair of the NBA-SPIDEL 2025 ANNUAL Conference Planning Committee, as well as other SPIDEL members.

    A Logistics Note on the conference indicated that delegates will receive complimentary breakfast on their lodging while lunch will also be served throughout the conference at Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, venue of the Annual Conference.

    While airport pick-up and drop-off are available, delegates are required to “communicate your flight arrival and departure details to the contact below at least 24 hours earlier.” Also, collection of conference materials will commence at 1 pm today at the NBA Uyo Branch Bar Centre.

    It is recalled that the conference kicked off today with commencement of onsite registration while the Attorney-General’s Welcome Cocktail holds today from 6 pm at the NBA Uyo Branch Bar Centre.
