Former Niger Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has described the state congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held last week as a sham, absurd and illegal.
He said the Congress held by a faction of the PDP in the State and some Northcentral leadership of the party holds no water.Aliyu, who spoke to supporters in his house, stated the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP is taken aback by the illegality and brazen abuse of the rule of law by those who conducted the congress.
He described them as desperate politicians stating that they cannot seize the realm of the party’s executives in the State by whipping ethnic sentiments and displaying other forms of bigotry.
Aliyu appealed genuine members of Niger PDP should remain calm and await unfolding events in the party as all necessary steps were in the works to give the party a sense of order, sanity and diligence.
“Those who organised and took part in that sham are enemies of our great party in Niger state. Please, do not leave or abandon the PDP,” he pleaded.
