The newly appointed Ilorin Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Commander of the EFCC, CE Anselem Ozioko, has pledged to intensify the Commission’s anti-graft efforts across Kwara, Kogi, and Niger States.

Ozioko made the commitment on Friday, during a brief handover ceremony held at the Commission’s Conference Room, Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ilorin.

He officially took over from Mr. Daniel Isei, who has been redeployed to the Enugu Zonal Directorate as Zonal Director.

In his address, Ozioko commended his predecessor for his leadership and achievements, assuring that he would sustain and build upon the successes recorded by the Ilorin office in combating economic and financial crimes in the region.

“I appreciate the confidence reposed in me by the management of the Commission.

“I look forward to working closely with all members of staff to achieve our collective goal of curbing economic and financial crimes in Kwara, Kogi, and Niger States.

“Together, we shall take the Ilorin Zone to greater heights,” Ozioko said.

He emphasized professionalism, teamwork, and integrity as core values that will guide his leadership, while assuring residents of the zone that the EFCC under his watch will not relent in pursuing transparency and accountability in public and private institutions.

Earlier in his remarks, the outgoing Zonal Director, Isei, expressed gratitude to God and the EFCC Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, for the opportunity to serve in Ilorin, describing his experience as “fulfilling and enriching.”

He thanked the staff for their commitment and support throughout his tenure and urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.

“My experience in Ilorin has been fulfilling. I thank the staff for their support and the synergy we shared in advancing the Commission’s mandate. I have no doubt that the new Zonal Director will build on the progress we’ve made,” he said.

Ozioko, a lawyer with over three decades of experience, has attended several professional courses and international conferences in the United States, Paris, Botswana, and Ghana.

Before his redeployment to Ilorin, he served as the Zonal Director of the EFCC Makurdi Office and had previously worked in the Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Ilorin Directorates as Head of Legal and Prosecution Department.
