The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, has strongly condemned the unlawful actions of the Nigerian Navy in branding its esteemed member, Vice Admiral Dada Olaniyi Labinjo (Rtd.), a “deserter” — a move taken in blatant defiance of a subsisting judgment of the National Industrial Court.
In response, the Branch has announced a protest march to challenge this injustice and demand accountability from the Nigerian Navy.
Speaking on the matter, the Chairman of NBA Lagos Branch, Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade, emphasized:
“This protest is necessitated by the violation of the fundamental rights of Vice Admiral Labinjo (Rtd.), the reckless disregard of a valid court judgment, and the grave threat such actions pose to our justice system and the rule of law in our nation. It is imperative that we bring this anomaly to light and press for immediate redress.”
