The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed 17 out of the 18 council administrator nominees with their members sent to the House by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The governor had forwarded the names to the House for the 18 Area Administrative Councils, for screening and possible confirmation.
The Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, announced their confirmation after the nominees appeared for screening during the House proceedings on Monday in Lafia, the state capital.
He, however, noted that the confirmation of Bashir Zubairu as administrator for Farin Ruwa Area Administrative Council was stepped down to enable the House to properly look into the nomination and other matters surrounding it.
Jatau, therefore congratulated the 17 newly confirmed administrators on their appointments and wished them well in their assignments.
He further urged them to live above board while discharging their duties, when they are finally sworn in by the state governor.
According to the Speaker, those confirmed as administrators for the Area Administrative Councils include Hashimu Jada for Azara; Yakubu Bala for Uke/Karahi; Prof. Rabo Dakare for Panda; while Jeremiah Ishaleku was confirmed as Administrator for Lafia East.
