Motorist Causes Gridlock in Lagos After Lying Under Car to Evade VIO Arrest

A motorist resisting arrest by Vehicle Inspection Officers resorted to lying under his car to prevent it from being towed.

The incident, which occurred during peak traffic hours, led to a significant traffic backlog stretching towards the Civic Centre axis inward Ozumba Mbadiwe in Victoria Island Lagos State on Wednesday.

This was made known in a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, on X(formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

The statement said, “A motorist resisting arrest from VIO officers has kept under his vehicle thereby creating a scene and avoiding being towed at Akin Adesola inward Ozumba Mbadiwe causing traffic backlog to Civic Centre.

” VIO officers and Police officers are at the scene as LASTMA officers manage the traffic emanating from the scene.”
