The Osun State Government has disclosed that its minimum wage negotiation committee is still working on a model that would be approved by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi on Saturday, he said Governor Adeleke would approve the recommendation of the government-labour committee.

Responding to reports on the nationwide implementation of the new minimum wage, he said the negotiation committee has the mandate of recommending to the government, the consequential adjustments arising from the Minimum Wage Law.

“The state Minimum Wage Negotiation Committee set up by Governor Ademola Adeleke will soon complete its assignment for necessary approval by the State Governor.

“The Committee approved by Governor Ademola Adeleke has been working assiduously to conclude the assignment without hitch.

“The Negotiation Committee is mandated to come up with recommendations to the government on the consequential adjustments arising from the minimum wage Law”, he said.

Quoting a circular from the Office of the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, the Commissioner listed the members of the committee with the Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye leading the government team.

The labour side is led by the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Arapasopo Christopher, while the Head of Service, Commissioners for Finance, Information, Budget and Economic Planning among others are on the government team.
