Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man identified as Wale Ibrahim for allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old, Fisayo Ajetumobi, to death during a dispute at Litaye Camp in Ondo East Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, in a statement released in Akure on Wednesday, said the incident occurred on September 13 around 6:30 p.m. at a construction site along Litaye Camp, near Lake Road.
“In the process, the suspect, Wale Ibrahim, stabbed one Fisayo Ajetumobi, who was at the scene, inflicting a fatal wound on his chest,” Ayanlade explained.
The victim reportedly died on the spot, while Ibrahim was immediately overpowered and arrested. Police investigations have since been concluded, and the suspect has been charged to court for prosecution.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, described the killing as a “senseless and avoidable act of violence.”
He stressed that the command would not condone such criminal conduct and urged residents to resolve disputes through lawful means.
“The police remain fully committed to safeguarding lives and property in Ondo State. We call on members of the public to continue assisting us with timely and credible information that can help in preventing crime,” the CP stated.
