A Kentucky man has been sentenced to prison in what authorities are calling a horrific abuse case.
According to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office, 26-year-old Mykill Pucket was given a 30-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to rape, assault and criminal abuse of a child.
Officials said the victim was a 6-month-old baby who had to be flown to the hospital for treatment.
As part of the guilty plea, Puckett will not be eligible for probation. He’ll also have five additional years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
“The abuse in this case was simply horrific. Law enforcement and prosecutors responded with the full weight of Kentucky’s justice system,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Zac Greenwell said.
Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman added that law enforcement is continuing to make it clear that criminal behavior has no place in Kentucky.
