A man has been arrested following the death of a teenage girl in a suspected drugs-related incident.
The 15-year-old girl collapsed at a bus stop in Allerton Bywater after taking what initial tests suggest was MDMA on 6 June and died in hospital six days later.
A 29-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning on suspicion of manslaughter and supplying a Class A drug and remains in custody.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “There is no suggestion of any wider risks arising from this incident, other than the inherent dangers of all illegal drugs.”
Police were called to hospital at 18:59 BST on 6 June after staff reported concerns about the girl who was brought in by ambulance after collapsing on Leeds Road.
She remained in a critical condition and died on 12 June.
A force spokesperson said officers were supporting the girl’s family and asked that “people show consideration and respect at what is clearly a very difficult time”.
