United States, US National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz and his deputy, Alex Wong, are set to leave President Donald Trump’s administration.
According to CBS News, the development is a stunning fall for one of Trump’s top aides.
The report said Waltz and his deputy will be leaving their posts, citing several sources familiar with the matter.
Meanwhile, Politico reported that Waltz could be replaced by one of President Trump’s longtime friends, Steve Witkoff.
Waltz recently came under intense criticism following his acknowledgement that he inadvertently added Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat group.
The journalist eventually disclosed details of the plan for military strikes in Yemen.
The chat group was set up to discuss pending attacks on Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The text group, which also included Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and others, discussed details of plans for strikes on Iran-backed Houthi rebels who have staged numerous attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
