LaLiga have confirmed they will take legal action against Paris Saint-Germain after Kylian Mbappe agreed to fresh terms to remain at the club.
In doing so, Mbappe chose to snub a transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
The France forward has now signed a new three-year contract with PSG and will become the highest-paid footballer in the world.
However, LaLiga has released a statement, stating they would be filing a complaint over an alleged breach of finance rules.
“LaLiga will file a complaint against PSG before UEFA, the French administrative and fiscal authorities and European Union authorities to continue to defend the economic ecosystem of European football and its sustainability.
“This type of agreement attacks the economic stability of European football, putting at risk hundreds of thousands of jobs and the integrity of the sport,” the statement read in part.
