Ahead of the 7th Road Edition of the Lagos Autofest 2025, scheduled for Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Lagos State Government has issued a traffic advisory to regulate movement around parts of Lagos Island during the event.
In a statement released on Thursday via the official X account of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, motorists were informed that traffic restrictions will be enforced between 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m. around Inner Marina, Marina Road and Kakawa Street.
The advisory announced a temporary closure of roads along the race corridor, which will run from Marina Road (UBA axis) through Kakawa Street, Balabina Street, Broad Street, Issah Williams Street, back to Broad Street, and terminating at Inner Marina.
According to the ministry, all junctions and intersections along the affected stretch, from Marina Road (UBA) to Broad Street (Inner Marina), will be barricaded to prevent access to the main race route throughout the duration of the event.
Motorists have been urged to remain patient and cooperate with traffic officials, as personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps will be deployed to control traffic, ensure safety, and minimise disruptions on adjoining routes.
