Kogi Poly suspends Deputy Registrar, four others over alleged fake results

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, says the school has uncovered a fake results syndicate operating within the institution. The discovery has led to the suspension of five staff members, including a Deputy Registrar.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lokoja on Wednesday, Professor Ogbo described the case as a serious attempt to damage the Polytechnic’s image and credibility.

He explained that the illegal network was uncovered after a joint investigation by the school’s Admission, ICT, and Security Units. The team found that some students, former students, and staff had been forging National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) results for money.

According to him, while five staff have already been suspended, some of the suspects, including a man identified as Dominic Egwuda, are still on the run.

“We will not allow anyone to tarnish the name of Kogi State Polytechnic. Everyone involved will face disciplinary action and legal prosecution,” he said.

The Rector stressed that his administration would continue to maintain strict standards and promote honesty within the school.

“Our commitment to transparency and accountability is firm. We will keep cleaning up the system so that only genuine effort and hard work are rewarded,” he added.
