A Magistrate Court in Nomansland, presided over by Magistrate Halima Wali, has ordered that a woman, identified as Fauziyya Abubakar be remanded in prison over alleged harmful practices.
Fauziyya reportedly entered a house on Lamido Crescent in Kano to urinate, but was later found to have sprayed a substance that caused the young girls in the house to fall ill.
Reports indicate that the house owner, Mrs. Bilkisu, told the court that her two daughters and the daughter of a neighbour developed strange health conditions after the incident.
She said one of the girls’ skin began peeling, another’s hair came loose whenever it was braided, and the third began barking like a dog.
Fauziyya is also accused of taking a woman’s used pad found in the house’s bathroom.
During the court session, Magistrate Wali refused to grant the accused bail, citing the serious condition of the affected children.
The case was adjourned to September 15, 2025, for continuation of the trial.
