The Kano State Government, on Friday, donated N100 million to assist victims of the recent fuel tanker fire incident in Majia, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Governor Abba Yusuf announced the donation during a condolence visit to Governor Umar Danmodi at the Government House in Dutse on Thursday.
Confirming the donation in a press statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Friday, Yusuf said the support was meant to provide relief to the families of those who lost their lives and for the treatment of those injured in the fire disaster.
Responding, Namadi expressed his deep gratitude on behalf of the people of Jigawa State, thanking Kano State for its generous support during such a difficult time.
“As of Thursday evening, 167 lives had been lost, and 67 people were receiving treatment at different medical facilities within and outside the state,” the governor added.
