Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has prayed that robbers should not target Nigeria’s President as they did in Chad.
This was stated by Ayokunle to journalists on the sidelines of the Nigerian Baptist Convention’s 108th convention (NBC).
“I hope our situation would not end up like Chad’s.
You may have recently learned on the television that the president was assassinated by the bandits, or whatever you want to call them.
“That means the thugs or anti-government activists are enjoying a field day.
“So, we don’t need to deceive ourselves with the current collapse of law and order in the country,” the cleric said.
Idris Deby, the President of Chad, died a few days ago as a result of injuries he suffered while fighting rebels.
More African presidents will die, according to Primate Elijah Ayodele, the head of the INRI Evangelical spiritual church.
Deby was the second African president to die, two months after Tanzanian President John Magufuli died in March.
